Sound familiar?

Who wrote these rules — and why weren't you invited to the meeting?

People aren't describing your limitations. They're describing their expectations. And those are two very different things.

  • 01Everybody has an opinion about your future — and they're louder than your own.
  • 02You were told motherhood, a setback or a late start means shelving your dreams.
  • 03Your timeline looks nothing like everyone else's, and it's shaking your confidence.
  • 04You keep postponing joy until 'someday' — after the kids, the degree, the promotion.
  • 05You feel you must choose: mother or mogul, minister or professional, scholar or creative.

"A changed timeline is not proof of a canceled destiny."

The Framework

The VENT Method

Four intentional decisions that challenge every kind of restriction — and help you live a life without apology.

V

Voice Your Truth

Your story deserves your voice.

Stop letting everyone else explain who you are. Your experiences, goals and purpose deserve to be spoken in your own words.

E

Enjoy & Experience Life

Stop postponing your joy.

Responsibility shouldn't erase joy. Success is measured by memories, not just degrees, contracts and titles.

N

Say No to Limitations

Every opportunity isn't your assignment.

Recognize the boundaries other people try to place on you — and refuse to adopt them as your own.

T

Try

The future won't experience itself.

Not another vision board about trying. Take the courageous step and actually begin.

Meet Kelli

The life they said she couldn't have

Pregnant as a college junior, Kelli was told to forget travel, slow down and shelve her ambitions. Eight years later she held her degree — then a Master of Divinity, certificates and study at Princeton. Today she's a mother, minister, scholar, poet, entrepreneur and the voice behind The Vent.

"You can be both. And sometimes, more than both."

Not a theory. A life — bench, fountain, columns and all.
